Last weekend, I stopped into Lifeway Christian Stores armed with a 30% coupon and searching for another book to add to my always growing collection. Almost immediately I was drawn to Through My Eyes, written by famed quarterback Tim Tebow. I’d heard various things about Tebow through the media, but I never paid much attention honestly. I knew that he is a devout Christian, which I respect greatly, but I’m just not that big of a sports person.
However, now that I am enrolled in graduate school at Tebow’s alma mater, the University of Florida (Go Gators!), I do feel more of a connection to him and his story now. So off I went with a new copy of his book in tow.
Even though I was already in the midst of reading Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist, something made me pick up Through My Eyes that night. Tebow, who wrote the book with Nathan Whitaker, shares his personal journey in a way that is engaging and relatable. By now, we all know the story of his birth and the incredible trust and faith that his parents had throughout the difficult pregnancy that ultimately ended with Tim’s miraculous birth in the Philippines. But the book covers so much more than just that piece of his life and it was really so interesting and inspiring to read. I already knew that Tim Tebow was good man, and this book just solidified that for me. I highly recommend it!
Go Gators! 🙂
