Happy Saturday, friends! Weekly round-up posts are all around, no matter where you look in the blogging world and I thought I would dip a toe in the water myself. One of my favorite days of the week is Saturday (for obvious reasons…hello weekend) but more specifically, Saturday mornings. If you had told me a few years ago that this night owl would one day be an early riser, even on weekends, I would have thought you were crazy. But the truth is, I have found that I am my most inspired and motivated to write in the early morning hours and I am all for that. Throw in a cup of coffee and dare I say that I have my new happy place?
Anyway, I thought I would use this time and place to share sort of a recap of the week and some of my favorite things. Just in case you, like me, enjoy some fun reading material to go with your coffee. Happy Weekend!
Life Moments // Oh goodness. This week felt like such a struggle as we are in the home stretch before Summer break and trust me, even Pre-K students know when a break is around the corner. Not gonna lie though, one of my favorite moments this week was finally filling up a whole journal (I began on January 1 and it lasted me through May 31) and moving back into my Lara Casey Write the Word journal. I have always loved words and writing and I have tried so many times to start journaling but the habit never seemed to stick. As of January 1 of this year, I tried again but this time I used my journal as a prayer journal to house what are essentially my letters to God each day. Surprise surprise, this time…the habit stuck!
Blog Posts // Emily over at Ember Grey celebrated her four year wedding anniversary with her husband and they are basically the cutest ever. Brittany at Grace, Love, Life shared 20 Bible Verses for When You Need a Savior (which is always) and it was so encouraging and the perfect way to end my week!
Music // I pretty much always have to have music on when I am writing (or doing anything basically) and this week, the song To Live is Christ by Sidewalk Prophets was pretty much on repeat as I worked on my latest writing project. Give it a listen, it’s beautiful!
Coffee // Starbucks recently unveiled a new Cold Brew flavor and basically it’s awesome. The Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew is super delicious and I may have ordered two this week. To be honest, it tastes nearly identical to the generic Vanilla Iced Coffee (which is always my go-to drink, no matter the season) so I’ll probably just stick to that but still, sometimes it’s nice to feel fancy and order a Cold Brew.
Have a great weekend!
