Man oh man, is there a lot to be grateful for this week! I took a week or two off from Ember Grey’s link-up for several reasons, one being that I was just simply very busy. But the other reason was that I found myself in a funk (and it’s one that I find myself in from time to time), and it was a funk in which it was very hard for me to think of anything that I was grateful for.
Now deep down, I knew that I had loads to be grateful in my life, but the stresses of my job and balancing that with grad school were piling up and I just couldn’t see beyond that. But now, I am happy to report that I have shaken those icky feelings for the time being and I can’t wait to tell you why!
grouplink // Thursday evening, I attended GroupLink, which is an event at my church that puts you into small groups based on your life stage, age, etc. I was a bit nervous going into it since I’ve never really done a small group bible study. But seeking out a sense of community was what called me to this new church to begin with and I have to say, that night was such a confirmation that I’ve been truly following God’s path for me spiritually. He called me to this new church home for the purpose of finding community and people to support me spiritually and that is exactly what I found. I am in the women’s group of young twenty-somethings and one of my leaders graduated the same year that I did from Appalachian State and I actually knew of her younger sister who was in the same scholarship program as me. Two of the ladies even had careers in marketing/social media, which is what I am currently getting my master’s degree in. There were just so many moments that left me going wow, thank you Lord for calling me to this place.
friend time // On Saturday, I got to spend the day with one of my closest friends from college, who I hadn’t seen since August! We spend Valentine’s Day as two single girls and spent the day at the movies and grabbed some dinner before I headed back home.
life planner // alright, so this is totally just my OCD-self talking, but I am obsessed with my Erin Condren life planner! It’s so pretty and I carry it with me everywhere!
