|I love my Sugar Paper planner! 🙂|
Tomorrow is the last day of 2014 so of course I’ve been looking ahead to the new year and thinking about some of the things that I want to accomplish. God is the true planner and only He knows what this year will bring for me and my loved ones but there are a few things that I plan to work on this year.
I don’t know that I necessarily want to call them “resolutions” since it seems like anything called a New Year’s Resolution tends to die off after about a month, but rather I think I’ll call these my hopes and goals for 2015.
#1: Seeking a Community
One thing that I felt that I have been missing lately is a sense of community. I am a member of The Peony Project, a community of amazing female bloggers who share a passion for both Christ and community, which has been a tremendous blessing already. I also plan on attending an event at the end of January at my new church home in which I will have the opportunity to meet other individuals who are in a similar life stage and form a small group bible study. Other than the faith formation classes that I attended in my childhood at my childhood church, I’ve never really been in a small group before so in some ways this event will be kind of daunting but I’m open to this new stage in my life 🙂
#2: The Daily Bible
I purchased this bible a couple months ago and tried to make it a daily ritual but I wasn’t able to keep it going. My hope is that by starting it on January 1 like it is arranged in the book, that I will be better able to take on this challenge and be able to spend this year really diving into God’s word. I’ve never read the bible in its entirety before so that is something I definitely hope to accomplish this year!
#3 Jesus Calling
My amazing sister gifted my mom, dad, and I with beautiful, leather-bound copies of Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. Devotionals are something I can see myself taking on and enjoying and so far, Jesus Calling is one that will definitely have an impact on me in 2015.
#4 Expanding Messy Milestones
I’ve created and maintained some fairly successful fansites and film blogs in the past but when it comes to running a lifestyle blog, I tend to find myself stuck in a blogging rut more often than what I anticipated. I chalk it up to this blog being a lot more personal than my previous endeavors, but regardless, this blog could use some sprucing up in the new year.
