Today, I am grateful. After four days in Raleigh, my heart is full with laughter, fellowship, and fruitful conversations with some of my favorite people. Every time I come into town, I find myself never wanting to leave and I hadn’t been up since April so it was a visit that was long overdue.
We celebrated my sister’s 28th birthday both on Wednesday (the actual day) and Saturday with a whole host of friends who never cease to amuse me and make me laugh. While my sister was at work on Thursday, I was able to meet up with my college friend/roommate and grab some lunch, catch up, and discuss our upcoming Labor Day vacation to Charleston. Friday, my sister and I drove around town for a bit of shopping and had a delicious lunch at our favorite Cuban restaurant in downtown Durham.
On Saturday, our cousin and aunt were actually driving through from Virginia on their way to see our grandmother so we stopped to see them at Parker & Otis, an adorable store/restaurant that serves the best iced coffee around. Later that evening, we had some friends over as a birthday/everyone just hang out kind of gathering and it was so fun.
The entire weekend was exactly what the doctor ordered and a much-needed break. I’ve been saying this for awhile now, but I think I’m finally going to actually start making the steps to hopefully move up here within a year or two. I will be praying over that, for sure.
