With my busy schedule, I don’t always have time to track down healthy eating options. Working full time while also in graduate school is very draining on my mind and body and I often am left feeling exhausted and wiped out. That’s why I was so excited to add Clean Slate to my cookbook collection.
From the editors of Martha Stewart Living, Clean Slate is the ultimate resource for food lovers like myself who want to get a handle on their eating habits and get back to feeling great. My favorite part about this cookbook and guide were the pictures. The photography is gorgeous and has a very clean look to them.
As the cover states, this is not just a cookbook. It’s also a guide that leads you through various “Golden Rules” to help you make a healthy step in your life.
I know I’ll be referring back to the guide over and over again. Now, onto the actual recipes. In all honesty, this was where I started to waver somewhat. A lot of the recipes look visually appealing and are very obviously healthy, but many of the ingredients are not readily accessible where I live without driving 20-30 minutes out of my way to a health-foods supermarket. Overall, I gave this book 3.5 out of 5 stars because of its stunning photos and clean design. The recipes are little too adventurous for me right now, but they do look very delicious. For more info on Clean Slate, head over here!
