I’m a few days late as I’ve been enjoying a few days of “down time” following my Spring Break as my graduate class has ended, giving a little more free time in the evenings. I’ve been utilizing the time to catch up on a little sleep. I can’t believe Spring Break has already come and gone! We were fortunate to not have to make up any “snow/ice” days so our Spring Break remained intact from Good Friday through April 12. The time certainly went by fast and this tired teacher is definitely counting down the days until summer break, that’s for sure!
Although the week flew by, I feel like I squeezed in a lot of things in the time off. I did my taxes, applied for a student loan (gag), went to the Dentist, got some work done on my car, tried out a couple new recipes, and visited my sister in Raleigh for four days.
I always love going up to Raleigh to visit my sister. There’s always something going on there and my sister has the sweetest group of friends that have welcomed me into the mix. We went to the Duke Symphony’s Spring concert that was movie themed (just about the only reason I would have stepped on that campus…Go Tarheels!), and enjoyed dinner and fun times in downtown Durham with some great people.
The transition back to work has been rough and I’ve been grateful to have a slight (and temporary) reprieve in my schedule with a month-long gap between the Spring and Summer semesters.
