Spring is full swing and I so hope that the season has a chance to stick around for a bit before the summer heat gets going. It always seems like we get maybe a week or two of Spring before the humid heat joins us and that’s just no fun to me. We’ve had quite a bit of rain in the past few weeks but this week is looking to be gorgeous and in the low 80s so hooray!
Since the weather has been so gorgeous lately, I wanted to share some of my favorite Spring traditions!
Every year in my town on the first Saturday in May, my town has their annual Springfest! It’s small town charm at its finest and growing up, back when I took dance classes, I performed at the festival every year. Unfortunately, I missed this year due to a trip up to visit my Grandma but this event always signifies Spring to me.
2. Walks at the Abbey
Not far from my house is Belmont Abbey College, a beautiful college and monastery. The Abbey is pretty small but on those gorgeous Spring days with flowers in bloom around the walkways, it is a gorgeous place for a weekend walk/jog.
3. Mother’s Day
In my family, Mother’s Day isn’t just a day to acknowledge and show our gratitude for our amazing mothers, it’s a chance to have one of our two annual family reunions. Every year on Mother’s Day and December 26th, my mom’s family gets together for food, fun, and fellowship. This year’s Mother’s Day cookout falls on my 24th birthday and the weather is shaping up to be perfect!
