Welcome to August, also known as the month that all teachers dread. Just three more weeks until I head back to work to prepare for my fourth year as a teacher and I’m not ready! I may act like I will be going back to work kicking and screaming but truthfully I am excited to get back to more structure and I will be bringing copious amounts of coffee with me. I wake up early during the school year, guys. Anyway, I am back to link up with Anne this month for the Currently linkup so enjoy!

Hearting // Netflix! I probably should be embarrassed by the fact that I have literally watched all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, like, at least three or four times since it hit the site but I just can’t bring myself to be. November 25 will be a dream, you guys. I also have been taking sometime to catch back up on The Vampire Diaries ahead of the eighth and final season this Fall. I watched TVD faithfully for the first five seasons but got out of it somewhere during season six. The recent announcement of the show’s end has me super nostalgic and I figure I should catch back up so that I can watch the final season. But seriously, I loved this show and it actually led me to some of my closest friends during my early blogging days….

Happy July, everyone! I’m pretty sure I say this every month, but where has the time gone?! 2016 is seriously flying by. I’m linking up with Jenna and Anne, as I do each month, to share what I’m up to currently.

Toasting // Hm. I’m not quite sure what I’m toasting this month, other than the thought that we’re one month closer to Fall? Fall and Winter are my jam, you guys. Boots, crisp air, and Christmas…what could be better?

Going // To the beach (next weekend!). I’m honestly not that much of a beach person (get me a cabin in the mountains any day), but my aunt invited my sister and I down for a quick weekend trip so it should be fun! Hopefully, my family and I will get up to the mountains for a day trip too soon.

Smelling // This is a hilarious prompt to me, especially since we’re in the thick of summer. Truthfully? We’re all smelling a bit sweaty down here in the South. It gets HOT here, you guys. But I’m also smelling the scent of backyard grills and fresh flowers, so that makes it all better.

Wearing // Unless I have somewhere to be where I have to actually look put together, I’m pretty much always wearing athletic leggings and a tank top. Not quite the “athleisure” trend, but just my attempts to be comfortable and not sweat through my entire wardrobe.

Wishlisting // Hm, I’m really not sure what I would be “wishlisting” this month. I have been obsessively listening to the five singles that Needtobreathe has released (especially Hard Love and Happiness), like, every single day and I am counting down the days until the full album is released (on the day my sister and I roadtrip to the beach…score).

What are you up to this month?

Happy First Hump Day of April! It’s time to share some current things in my life with the Currently linkup, hosted by Anne and Jenna!

Making // Plans! Summer is around the corner and I’m currently praying into the possibility of going on a mission trip with my church in late June. It may not happen, but I’d like for it to! I am also taking a course from UC-Santa Barbara online this summer as part of the Child Life certification process and a couple concerts are in the works as well!

Wishlisting //  Is it weird if I still make a birthday list? My birthday is about a month away, so I’ve been scouring the interwebs for some birthday treats! Does anyone else automatically write off every purchase as an early birthday gift leading up to their birthday?

Cleaning // Everything! There’s so much in my life that needs cleaning and organizing. 2016 is definitely the year that I finally manage to declutter my life.

Posting // Not nearly enough! Like I said in my April Goals post, I’m definitely trying to get back to a regular posting schedule and editorial calendar. I tend to need to be super inspired in order to write anything and even though I know I don’t have to post regularly, I still like doing it.

Tasting // Passion Tea Lemonade! I love this treat from Starbucks year-round, but there’s something about having this drink in the Springtime that seems so right. I’ve been busting out my Passion Tea K-cup pods and mixing it with lemonade to keep in a carafe in my fridge.

Currently // Vol. 1

Oh, January. Welcome back. The beginning of a new year is always an interesting time, what with all of the resolving and goal-setting going around. I’m no exception to that, but I do always enjoy seeing what others are resolving to do (or not do). Since we’re about a week into a new month and a new year, I thought I would check in with another “Currently” update. This year, I’m linking up with Anne from Anne in Residence and Jenna from Gold & Bloom for their monthly Currently linkup series.

Resolving // I’ve declared 2016 to be the year that I really work on being intentional with how I live each day. 2015 was a trying year, but I allowed myself to get so burnt out without realizing it until it was too late. My “word” for this year is abide and I really want to live each day in a way that is completely rooted in the Lord and abide in Him with all that I do.

Reading // I’m already one book ahead on my 2016 Reading goal! I’ve been using Goodreads to track my yearly goals for five years now. I devoured Marie Kondo’s Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and I’m looking forward diving into the illustrated companion, Spark Joy, which came out yesterday. I’m currently reading Me Before You by Jojo Moyes!

Organizing // After reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, I’m totally in an organizational season right now. Truthfully, I need to get my whole life organized but the book has definitely inspired me. Some of the KonMari methods I was already kind of doing, but I definitely need to get started on this method soon.

Loving // The God & Glam community over at Paper & Glam. I think I’ve mentioned Lisamarie on this blog before, but I could not be more grateful for her! She is a planner junkie, like me, and creates and sells amazing products from her online shop. But more than that, she is a Christ follower and is so inspirational with how candid she is about how she roots her life completely in the Word of God. She is reading through the devotional Savor by Shauna Niequist this year and invited those of us in her God & Glam Facebook group to read along with her and share our stories along the way.

Craving // A soda. But I’m trying to hold strong! I haven’t completely cut them out of my life just yet, but I am gradually decreasing how many I drink each week. The ultimate goal is to stop drinking soda entirely, though.
